Misc.
—First, sorry if yesterday was too heavy for a Monday morning. I just write about what’s on my mind when it’s on my mind. I should probably save the real serious stuff for later in the week since Monday’s are serious enough! A couple of you pointed that out.
—You have probably heard about “Philadelphia Karen” by now. I think what she did was excessive, but I don’t think it should ruin her life. I think the public flogging she’s received has also been excessive. It’s so easy to jump on the meme bandwagon these days.
—I am reminded of the Rotary Four Way Test. When I was in the Milford Rotary Club we recited this at the conclusion of our weekly meeting:
"Is it the truth?"
"Is it fair to all concerned?"
"Will it build goodwill and better friendships?"
"Will it be beneficial to all concerned?”
Words matter. And they live on, long after the conversation has ended.
—Stereotypes and tropes are generally based on truth. But not always.
One famous trope is that if you step on a banana peel you are going to slip and fall and land on your back. When I was a kid, I thought that would be much more of a problem than it is.
Another common trope is that dogs chase cats. Cats are portrayed as the weaker species.
Well, I have a dog and a cat, and that is flat out wrong in our house.
JoJo, our cat, rules the roost. Millie, the Golden, is afraid of her.
Millie tries to play. JoJo smacks her.
Millie walks by. JoJo smacks her.
JoJo walks by. Millie gives her space.
I was in Key West once and I saw a dog walking with a cat on its back. And the cat had a mouse on its back. All three just walking around.
The guy who owned them wanted money so I didn’t take a picture, but I found one online:
Everything I learned from Tom & Jerry was a lie.
There is no point to this story. Just an observation.
Another observation: It would have been much more appropriate on a Monday morning than writing about Saving Private Ryan.
Have a great Tuesday.

I say, go with the flow…your words always manage to make me think, laugh, reminisce and ponder, no matter the day or subject!
Why does every woman that misbehaves need to be a Karen. I'm married to a fine Christian lady named Karen that honestly has kept me out if trouble. Can we use Jezebel? Her reputation is already ruined.
As for your cat and dog, that cat is indeed weaker but has convinced the dog he's stronger. Like the bully that finally gets whipped and goes home crying. We got an Australian Shep puppy years ago. The cat would run in to the puppy and knock him over time and time again. One day the puppy became a dog. The dog chased the cat under my dad's pickup. The dog dove under, grabbed the cat by the head and pulled him out. The cat was now submissive. Your dog is like many Christians, not knowing what power they have and living in fear. I shall pray for your dog.
