Many grandparents have said it is more fun being a grandparent then a parent. That's true because a parent has more responsibilities, they are raising our grandchildren & teaching us new boundaries. You know the boundaries you had with your kid's grandparents. In reality as the elders we have more time to enjoy the grands.
Bill & Julie enjoy this chapter in your life. One warning though; the grands grow up much quicker than their parents did. ❤️
My grands are 39, 28, 24 & 24. One deceased would be 33.
Now how did that happen when I'm only? Let me think now...
I prefer to use the word, BLESSED, rather than lucky, although that word works, too. We have 4+1... 4 biological and 1 bonus...ALL GIRLS!!! We got to experience the snuggles and newness of all 4 of our biological granddaughters. (Our bonus granddaughter was older when she came into our lives.) Our 5 granddaughters are now 16 (the bonus), 14, 13, 12, and 10!!! They're all so special and talented in different ways, and we cherish every moment we get to spend with them.
Congratulations to you, Julie and Bonny!! You're all rocking the role of grandparenthood!!!
At one point we thought we wouldn't have any grandchildren, no we have four. We live 600 feet from them, taking them to and from school and watching them a few hours each day. It's work and a blessing. I never knew until a few years ago that my cousin that grew up in Pennsylvania was envious of me because I lived down the lane from our grandparents and he was hours away. As a result he has I think nine grandchildren and most live nearby. He's very much involved with them everyday.
