Or get old ; then you wake up every hour on the hour & never need an alarm! (or just can't sleep at all!)

This is true.

Going through this with my grandson right now…argh. I wake up to make sure he wakes up!

If I weren't already awake, my son's WWII siren alarm would awaken me with dread, searching my mind for the closest bomb shelter! He has at least 3-5 alarms.

I can't fault him, though. When I was his age, I used to place my alarm across the room from my bed so that I had no choice but to get out of bed to shut the infernal thing off!

Bill, I love your posts.

Like you Bill, when I started in radio I would be getting up at 2am. Had to be in the weather center by 3am to have weather ready before 5am. Once I started working out of my home...I was able to get up at 2:45am. I never used an alarm clock. My body would just wake up. Not often did I oversleep in over 40+ years of doing radio. Now...mainly retired...I wake up at 4:15am...do what I have to do and finished by 6am. Weekend...same drill. My house has clocks in every room...may be overkill....but I lived and worked by the clock. I do not like when going to someone's house where there are no clocks. I do not wear a watch ...so I need to check my cell to find out the time. Needless to say...I am a nut about being on time everywhere. As The Rolling Stones sang....."Time Is On My Side".

I set multiple alarms. The first is the time I want to get up to do the things I want to do before Hubby gets up. The second is a more realistic time. And the third is the “ who am I kidding there is no time left” alarm. But I don’t hit snooze!

I have never, ever hit the snooze button. When the alarm goes off, my feet hit the floor.

Bill I'm with you, one alarm is enough! Lola's routine would drive me bonkers! So do you still get up at O Dark thirty? Have a blessed day.

I am usually up around 5 or 5:30 these days.

That's not too bad.
