A Prodigy
You ever watch someone who is the best at something and wonder how they became so good at it?
Tiger Woods and golf. Serena Williams and tennis. Gordon Ramsey and cooking. Simone Biles and gymnastics. Steve Lukather and guitar.
Part of it is hard work and dedication. Practice. Lessons. More practice.
But part of it is something they were born with.
What if Tiger Woods Dad had been more interested in tennis and pushed little Tiger to ignore golf and play tennis? Or Simone Biles parents told her she’d never make a living doing gymnastics, so go study accounting.
I think about that sometimes.
I also think about how many people might be capable of being the best at something, but they never try that thing. They’re never exposed to it, for one reason or another.
Like…maybe I could have been an elite level bobsledder. We’ll never know because I’ve never been in the same zip code as a bobsled.
Or what about bagpipes? I could probably nail Amazing Grace on a bagpipe, but since I’ve never touched a bagpipe the World is spared from finding out.
My point? Not sure I have one. It’s just something I have pondered since I haven’t found anything that I am really really good at.

You’re walking in it, Bill. Keep pondering. Keep writing. The world needs to hear what you have to share.
You have ALWAYS been good at sharing Jesus with a listening audience, and have now delved into another strength with writing; so full of truth, with humor and much love!
